Course 2: Use Pix4Dfield to draw boundaries and upload into XAG
1. Process the Images
- Take out the SD card from the Mavic 3 drone and put it to a computer.
- Start Pix4Dfield
- Create a New Project
- Import the folder where the images are
- Start processing the RGB images in JPEG format
- Select the "Fast Processing" for this project because it's flat, and we are on the edge of the field, which will make the process quicker. The other option, "Accurate," will take much longer, which is best suited for areas of high and low elevations.
- Click to start processing
2. Outline the boundary
- Now, the images are done processing.
- Start drawing boundaries
- we wouldn't draw where the planter goes and we want to go around where the trees are.
- Create obstacles areas
- Create No Spray Areas
- Add a hole in the Boundary area
- draw a hole
- Click "Target Operation", then "Continue"
- Select our Boundary and Obstacle
- Continue with "Do not pre-fill grid cells:
- Continue with "gallon/acre"
- Select the size of the Cell/Grid to be 20 ft.
- Click "OK"
- Fill cells with same rate 2 gal/acre
- Click "Export," go to "Operations," and select "XAG" to export.
- Select export holes as "No Spray Areas"
- Export to a folder on your computer
3. Import into the XAG FMS system
- Go to XAG FMS system: https://fms.xaggeo.com/
- login with your XAG One username and password.
- Go to "Farmland", select "upload"
- Confirm upload to "XAG One"
- Select "View Map" to validate the upload is successful.
